La collection Histoire & Sociétés est adossée au Centre de Recherche et d’Études Histoire et Sociétés (CREHS) de l’université d’Artois (Arras, France). Elle accueille des ouvrages de recherche en histoire qui s’inscrivent dans l’un ou plusieurs des trois champs privilégiés du CREHS　: l’histoire de l’éducation, c’est-à-dire celle des institutions scolaires et universitaires, des élèves et des professionnels de l’enseignement　en Europe　; l’histoire des identités religieuses de l’Antiquité à nos jours en Europe　; l’histoire des patrimoines, des territoires matériels et immatériels qui les accueillent et de l’économie qui les fait vivre. La collection est ouverte à tout auteur, qu’il soit membre du CREHS ou non, sous réserve qu’il satisfasse à la ligne éditoriale. Les ouvrages publiés au sein de la collection peuvent être des monographies, des ouvrages collectifs ou des éditions scientifiques de documents. Ils s’adressent aux chercheurs, aux enseignants, aux étudiants et, plus largement, à tous les publics amateurs d’histoire intéressés par le passé de nos sociétés.

The series «Work & Society» analyses the development of employment and social policies, as well as the strategies of the different social actors, both at national and European levels. It puts forward a multi-disciplinary approach – political, sociological, economic, legal and historical – in a bid for dialogue and complementarity. The series is not confined to the social field stricto sensu, but also aims to illustrate the indirect social impacts of economic and monetary policies. It endeavours to clarify social developments, from a comparative and a historical perspective, thus portraying the process of convergence and divergence in the diverse national societal contexts. The manner in which European integration impacts on employment and social policies constitutes the backbone of the analyses. La collection « Travail & Société » analyse les évolutions de la sphère du travail et des politiques sociales à travers l’étude des stratégies menées par les acteurs sociaux, tant sur le plan national qu’européen. Elle propose une approche pluridisciplinaire – politique, sociologique, économique, juridique et historique – dans un souci de dialogue et de complémentarité. La collection ne se limite pas à des études du champ social stricto sensu mais vise également à illustrer les impacts sociaux indirects des politiques économiques et monétaires. Elle s’attache à mettre en perspective les évolutions sociales, tant du point de vue historique que de manière comparative, en illustrant la convergence et la divergence dans les différents parcours nationaux. La dimension européenne, et plus particulièrement l’impact de l’intégration européenne, constitue un axe d’analyse privilégié.

«Comparatism and Society» is an interdisciplinary collection which considers literature, the arts and the humanities in a close interaction with the evolution of society and the history of ideas. Although open to a wide range of methodologies, it nevertheless favours the perspective of cross-analysis, convinced that the objective of all research should be to reach beyond the limits of linguistic, national and disciplinary borders. Comparatism and Society aims to increase contacts between university researchers and those interested in sharing results and disseminating them to a wider audience. « Comparatisme et Société » est une collection interdisciplinaire qui envisage la littérature, les arts et les sciences humaines dans une interaction étroite avec l’évolution de la société et de l’histoire des idées. Ouverte au pluralisme des méthodes d’analyse, elle privilégie toutefois la perspective des regards croisés, dans la conviction que l’objectif inhérent à toute recherche se doit de dépasser le cadre des frontières linguistiques, nationales et disciplinaires. Population, Famille et Société / Population, Family, and Society

This series welcomes and encourages the dialogue between demography and family studies to revitalize social history as well as sociology and population studies. An international network of scholars based at the Laboratory of Demography and Family Studies of the University of Geneva has initiated an open-minded series that seeks to reflect the latest developments in research. The collection emphasizes comparative and international perspectives, as well as interdisciplinary approaches drawing from history, economics, statistics, sociology, geography, demography, and cultural anthropology. Innovative methodologies for both qualitative and quantitative analysis which allow authors to reformulate old problems and ask new questions are particular welcome. The series publishes both individual and collective volumes. The first group encompasses case studies or monographs coming from the Swiss or the international scientific world, including the best Ph.D. dissertations. The second group refers to collective volumes organized around a topic emerging from a scientific debate, with contributions from various disciplinary fields and/or geographic horizons. Cette collection a pour ambition d’accueillir et de promouvoir le dialogue entre les démographes et les spécialistes de la famille, dialogue qui renouvelle profondément tant l’histoire sociale que la sociologie contemporaine. Animée par un réseau international qui s’appuie sur le Laboratoire de Démographie et d’Etudes Familiales de l’Université de Genève, la collection est largement ouverte et veut refléter les dynamiques de recherche les plus récentes. Elle privilégie les perspectives comparatives, internationales, ainsi que les approches interdisciplinaires, celles qui mêlent les apports de l’histoire, de l’économie, de la statistique, de la sociologie, de la géographie, de la démographie, de l’anthropologie culturelle, etc. L’innovation méthodologique, dans les domaines du qualitatif aussi bien que du quantitatif, qui permet de refonder les problématiques et d’articuler de nouvelles questions, est particulièrement saluée. La collection accueille aussi bien des contributions individuelles que collectives. Dans le premier groupe se rangent les monographies ou travaux de synthèse issus du milieu scientifique suisse et international, en ce compris les meilleures thèses de doctorat. Le second groupe réunit des recueils d’articles organisés autour d’un thème qui émerge dans le débat scientifique, et qui requiert le croisement de regards venus de multiples horizons disciplinaires et/ou géographiques.

The series Eastern European Cultures, Politics and Societies is devoted to the social issues that have been shaping the life of the post-communist European sphere. The specificity of the region and its continuous exposure to radical changes makes it a fascinating object of study. This is one of the reasons it attracts excellent researchers and writers. We published books by historians, sociologists, anthropologists, and literary, feminist and cultural scholars. We are planning to continue this interdisciplinary, cutting-edge work.

Until the publication of volume 21 the title of the series was "Polish Contemporary Philosophy and Philosophical Humanities". The series aspires to present a wide and relevant overview of best Polish works in philosophy and philosophical parts of the major fields of the humanities: political and social sciences, history, religious studies or what is named in Poland "the history of ideas". The subsequent editions of books within this series are either re-editions of the works previously published in non-Polish versions, or new translations from Polish. Some books contain extended works, other ones provide collections of smaller papers. Some of the authors presented in the series are widely acknowledged and regarded to be the "classics" of Polish intellectual life in the second half of the 20th Century, others are recognized as outstanding professors today. The quality and fame of the works and authors presented in the series are the only criteria for inclusion. The series is open to all streams of Polish philosophy: from analytical philosophy, through phenomenology and hermeneutics, to existential or religious philosophies. Also the word "philosophy" should be understood very widely in this case.

"In ihrer neuen Editionsreihe veröffentlicht die Schweizerische Musikforschende Gesellschaft (SMG) Kompositionen mit Schweizer Kontext in kritischer Edition. Die Grundlage für eine erste Auswahl an bedeutsamen Werken schuf das vom Schweizerischen Nationalfonds getragene Projekt Musik aus Schweizer Klöstern und dessen Folgeprojekte am Institut für Musikwissenschaft der Universität Freiburg i. Ü.; ein umfangreiches Forschungsvorhaben, an dem auch die Arbeitsstelle Schweiz des Répertoire International des Sources Musicales (RISM) und die Schweizer Nationalphonothek beteiligt sind. Ziel ist es, musikalische Quellen aus dem 17., 18. und 19. Jahrhundert, die sich in Schweizer Klöstern erhalten haben, zu sichten, zu untersuchen und in ihren historischen und liturgischen Zusammenhängen zu deuten. Die ausgewählten Kompositionen sind in verschiedener Hinsicht repräsentativ: Bestimmte Quellen erlauben es zum Beispiel, den Vorgang der Beschaffung und der oftmals erfindungsreichen Adaption von Musikalien zu rekonstruieren, als deren Provenienz häufig die katholischen Gegenden des Alpenraums oder die grossen Musikmetropolen Europas zu eruieren sind. Andere Werke wurden von den Konventualen der einzelnen Klostergemeinschaften für ihre eigene Musikpflege komponiert und blieben bis heute an Ort aufbewahrt. Sie sind wichtige Zeugen spezifischer liturgischer und musikalischer Praktiken und nicht selten Beispiele für die Leichtigkeit, mit welcher die Musiker der Peripherie verschiedene gängige Stile handhabten. Es wurden jedoch von den Klöstern auch gezielt Werke bei prestigeträchtigen externen Autoren in Auftrag gegeben. Und nicht zuletzt finden sich in den Sammlungen musikalische Kostbarkeiten, die zufällig erhalten geblieben sind: Da die Schweiz weitgehend von Kriegszerstörungen verschont wurde, trifft man in den Klosterbibliotheken bisweilen auf Unika von geradezu spektakulärem historischem und ästhetischem Wert. Das Editionsprojekt beabsichtigt, wichtige Forschungslücken zu schliessen und die Vielfalt musikalischer Zeugnisse historisch zu beleuchten, um damit eine ungemein reiche Seite der schweizerischen Kulturgeschichte sichtbar zu machen. Die mit einem quellenkritischen Apparat versehenen Ausgaben wenden sich gleichermassen an die Wissenschaft wie an die musikalische Praxis mit der Intention, das Wissen um ein reichhaltiges Repertoire an geistlicher Musik aus drei Jahrhunderten zu bereichern. Denn erst im Erklingen findet diese Musik ihre Bestimmung, entsprechend den häufig aufwändig restaurierten Kirchenbauten zeugt sie von der eindrucksvollen Blütezeit der katholischen Kirchenmusiktradition."

Die Società – Forum für Ethik, Kunst und Recht bietet in ihrer Schriftenreihe dem Austausch all jener Wissenschaften ein Forum, die sich der Erforschung der Grundlagen einer freien Gemeinschaft verschrieben haben. Besonderes Augenmerk wird hierbei auf die Geisteswissenschaften, die Rechtswissenschaften und die Informationswissenschaften gelegt. Die Ergebnisse der interdisziplinären Konferenzen der Società sowie ausgewählte Monografien helfen Antworten auf die Frage zu finden, wie der Gesellschaftsvertrag einer Gemeinschaft freier gestaltender Individuen aussehen könnte – vor allem angesichts technologischer Innovation und divergierender ethischer Konzepte.

Die Buchreihe «Aktuelle Probleme moderner Gesellschaften» veröffentlicht Monographien und Sammelbände mit Studien zur Politikwissenschaft, herausgegeben von Professor Karl-Heinz Breier, Professor Peter Nitschke und Professorin Corinna Onnen. Die Arbeiten der Reihe spannen einen Bogen von der Politikwissenschaft über philosophische Fragestellungen bis hin zu Aspekten der Soziologie und der Frauen- und Geschlechterstudien. Die Qualität der in dieser Reihe erscheinenden Arbeiten wird vor der Publikation durch alle Herausgeber der Reihe geprüft. Gesellschaften und Staaten im Epochenwandel / Societies and States in Transformation

The series “Societies and States in Transformation” offers an interdisciplinary forum for investigations of radical changes in world history with their concomitant social, political, cultural, and economic upheavals. Focus is thus laid on people and societies, both as actors and agencies in processes of transformation and as objects of such changes. These issues are addressed not only in the context of the intense ideological, institutional, and sociological shifts of the 20th Century, but also from deeper historical perspectives, and with a concern for processes currently emerging on the global horizon. The series thus deals with the various forms of expression in time and space that reflect the reactions to the challenges posed by epochal change brought about by the affected societies and nations. It includes works from historical and political science, sociology, socio-cultural anthropology, and cultural studies with the aim of facilitating interdisciplinary communication and interaction. Volume 25 concludes the serie. Die Publikationsreihe "Gesellschaften und Staaten im Epochenwandel" bietet ein interdisziplinäres Forum für Beiträge, die auf die großen Umbrüche in der Weltgeschichte mit ihren sozialen, politischen, kulturellen und wirtschaftlichen Verwerfungen fokussieren. Mensch und Gesellschaften stehen hierbei sowohl als Handelnde als auch als Objekt von Transformationsprozessen im Mittelpunkt der Betrachtung, die über den Paradigmenwechsel in der jüngeren Vergangenheit Europas hinaus auch aktuelle Prozesse einer zunehmend global vernetzten Welt ins Blickfeld nimmt. Die Editionsreihe "Publikationen der Schweizerischen Musikforschenden Gesellschaft. Serie II" stellt ein zentrales Podium für die musikwissenschaftliche Forschung in der Schweiz dar und widmet sich in erster Linie Themen mit inhaltlichem Bezug zur Schweiz. Sie umfasst sowohl grössere Einzelstudien als auch Festschriften und Kongressberichte und offenbart die schweizerische Kulturgeschichte in ihrer gesamten Bandbreite.
